Coverage While Traveling

If you are traveling out of the country for personal reasons, your Confluent medical plan will cover services in an emergency situation. However, you should expect to pay out of pocket first and then submit for reimbursement after the fact (cost share will apply based upon the plan you select). Your medical plan will not cover any non-emergency healthcare services rendered abroad. 

If you are traveling abroad for business, Confluent’s Business Travel Accident plan through Chubb will reimburse the cost of emergency medical services should you become ill or injured, in addition to providing other valuable travel benefits through AXA Travel Assistance. This plan comes at no cost to you.

Business Travel Accident Coverage

Chubb Emergency Medical Coverage:

• This benefit can help pay for emergency medical services rendered abroad, up to a maximum of $1,000,000 per employee per incident 
• Expect to pay out of pocket first, and then submit for reimbursement through the Business Travel Accident plan

AXA Travel Support Services:

• Replacement benefits for lost/stolen luggage, travel documents, corrective lenses, or prescription drugs
• ID Theft Assistance
• Emergency cash transfer in local currency
• Translator or interpreter assistance
• Security, evacuation & medical transportation assistance 
• Legal/bail bond referrals

Chubb Accidental Death Coverage:

• This benefit offers an additional lump sum payment to your beneficiary in the event you or an eligible family member accompanying you pass away while on a business trip. The payment is equal to: 
  • Eligible Employees: 5x your base salary, up to a maximum of $1,000,000
  • Eligible spouse/domestic partner: 100% of your Accidental Death benefit amount up to $100,000
  • Eligible child: 100% of your Accidental Death benefit amount up to $50,000
