It can be hard to navigate benefit options and be sure you’re making the best choice. How do you know which Confluent medical plan is right for you and your family? It depends on your health, your budget, and your healthcare priorities. Remember that every medical plan through Collective Health covers the same network of providers and facilities, the same services, and the same prescription drugs.
Do you view your medical coverage as a safety net in case of a serious illness or medical emergency? Do you rarely visit the doctor outside of annual preventive care visits? Are you typically able to manage your health without frequent visits to a PCP or specialist? Is reducing your monthly healthcare costs and saving on taxes among your top financial goals? If so, take a close look at our HDHP/HSA plans.
Are you or eligible family members anticipating the need for healthcare services that may require you to see an out-of-network provider?? If so, take a look at the PPO plan. With higher per-paycheck premium costs, it offers the highest level of out-of-network reimbursement across all Confluent medical plans. But, you’ll still save money if you seek services from in-network providers.
Are you hoping to pay less each time you need to visit the doctor? If you don’t want to pay a lot out of pocket for typical and specialty medical care, consider our Kaiser HMO (only available in CA) or EPO plan. There’s no deductible, and you’ll only have a small copay for office visits and most services. Their exclusive provider networks also offer the lowest costs for hospital and outpatient care, however, these plans have limited out-of-network coverage, so make sure your favorite providers are covered!
Confluent pays most of the cost for medical, dental, and vision care plans, as well as many other benefits. However, it’s important to consider how much certain plans will cost you, each paycheck.

If you choose to decline medical coverage through Confluent, you will receive an “opt-out credit” on each paycheck equivalent to $160, less applicable taxes and withholdings.
