Ready, Set, Enroll

You’ve come to the right place.

Whether you’re enrolling during our annual Open Enrollment, enrolling for the first time as a new hire, or making changes during the year (see below for details), getting there is fast and easy. Simply login to the Benefits Enrollment Center through Okta, follow the prompts, and boom. You’re done.

  • As a new hire, it’s important to note that you must complete your enrollment within 30 days of your date of hire.
  • Review New to Confluent? for more details on how to explore your choices and prepare to enroll.
  • Go to Okta > Benefits Enrollment Center > New Hire Benefits Enrollment Event to complete your enrollment within the 30-day window.
  • If you’re eligible for benefits through Confluent, our designated Open Enrollment period is your annual opportunity to select new plans or make changes to your current benefits coverage and enroll for the upcoming calendar year.
  • Open Enrollment typically happens in October and elections made during Open Enrollment become effective the following January 1.
  • Keep in mind, Open Enrollment is the only time you’re allowed to make changes to your Confluent benefits, unless you experience an IRS-defined “qualified life event” (QLE) during the year.
  • Once you enroll, your benefits choices remain in effect until the next annual Open Enrollment period. You will not be able to make changes to your coverage, unless you experience a qualified life event (QLE) as defined by the IRS, including such life events as:
    • Marriage, divorce, legal separation, or annulment
    • Birth, legal adoption of child, placement for adoption, or permanent guardianship
    • Death of a spouse or child
    • A Qualified Medical Child Support Order
    • A change in your spouse, domestic partner, or dependent’s employment
    • A loss or gain of group insurance coverage
    • A dependent loses eligibility (divorce/legal separation/guardianship termination/ceases to satisfy the requirements of eligibility due to age)
    • A move that changes plan eligibility
    • Dependent daycare change
  • If you experience such a qualified life event (QLE) during the year, you can change your benefits by logging into the Benefits Enrollment Center through Okta and clicking “Change Your Current Benefits.” This must be completed within 30 days of the life event.
  • Benefit changes will generally be effective first of the month following the event date. Birth, adoption, or placement events will be the effective date of the event (birth/adoption/placement). If you have questions about what date to use for your event, please submit a benefits ticket through Jira.
